The mist doesn't follow her. She simply goes where it was already going.

Dreich Mistwhisper moves through the Highland haar like she was made from it, which, in a sense, she was. The Mistweaver of the Darkwood, she calls the valley mist up from the ground and the coastal haar in from the sea, wrapping the landscape in grey until the familiar becomes strange and the strange becomes invisible. Her black hat spirals upward like smoke from a doused fire, its gold leaf catching the last of the light before she pulls the fog in to swallow it. The wild grey fall of her hair is the mist itself, given form.

She does not hide in the mist. She simply prefers the world when it looks like this.

She is the reason you sometimes can't quite see the far end of the loch. She considers this an improvement.

The Story Behind Dreich Mistwhisper

Dreich is hand-crafted with care, each one made individually so no two are ever quite the same. That grey, unhurried quality is entirely her own, she arrives already half-disappeared, already somewhere between here and the next valley.

She walks the Darkwood, the deepest part of the Hidden Path, where the trees grow close and the light arrives late and leaves early. The Darkwood Folk are not the watchers at the edge of the forest. They are the ones at the centre of it, in the oldest dark, where the roots go deepest and the old magic has never left.

Dreich makes a brilliant gift for anyone who secretly loves a grey day, a misty loch, and the particular atmosphere of the Highlands when the weather is doing something dramatic. She'll settle in somewhere and make the whole room feel a little more atmospheric.
