He reads the grief written into broken stone.
Gillespie Greyruin has spent centuries in the company of fallen things, collapsed towers, roofless chapels, walls reclaimed by heather and rain. He is the Ruinwalker, a wizard who reads the history of broken places the way others read books. His bronze and gold hat shimmers like lichen in low autumn light, its diamond studs marking every ruin he has catalogued, each one a place that was loved, then lost, then slowly returned to the earth.
He is not mournful. He simply understands that endings are also a kind of record.
He traces his fingers along cracked lintels and moss-filled carvings to hear what was lost, what was left behind, and what still lingers. He carries more history than most libraries and he wears it better.
The Story Behind Gillespie Greyruin
Gillespie is hand-crafted with care, each one made individually so no two are ever quite the same. That weight of history is entirely his own, he arrives already carrying the memory of places most people have forgotten to grieve.
He walks the Darkwood, the deepest part of the Hidden Path, where the trees grow close and the light arrives late and leaves early. The Darkwood Folk are not the watchers at the edge of the forest. They are the ones at the centre of it, in the oldest dark, where the roots go deepest and the old magic has never left.

A Little Piece of the Highlands
Gillespie makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves history, ruins, and the melancholy beauty of the Scottish landscape. He belongs somewhere quiet, a bookshelf, a windowsill, a mantelpiece, somewhere he can keep watch over the things worth remembering.
Not suitable for children, this is not a toy. Contains small parts.
Every ruin was once someone's home. Gillespie remembers them all.
