A proud son of Clan Fraser, Jamie ‘Boldblade’ Fraser carries the courage and determination of his Highland ancestors wherever he goes.
Dressed in Fraser tartan and his black bonnet, Jamie has the unmistakable look of a Highland clansman. His sturdy appearance and watchful expression suggest a Nome who is always ready for whatever lies around the next Highland bend.
They say Jamie earned the name Boldblade because he never hesitated when there was a challenge to face. Whether it was a difficult road, a wild Highland storm or an opponent who thought himself rather too clever, Jamie was always the first to step forward.
Of course, Jamie tells the story rather differently. According to him, knowing when to draw your blade is only half the skill — knowing when to put it away again is the other half...
One thing is certain, Jamie Fraser is a character who was made for adventure.
The White Cockade
Look closely at Jamies's bonnet and you'll find a small white ribbon, a nod to the famous white cockade associated with the Jacobite cause.
During the Jacobite Risings, the white cockade became a recognised symbol of support for the Stuart cause. Worn on the bonnet, it served as a visible badge of allegiance, a small but meaningful sign that the wearer stood with the Jacobites.
Jamie's little white ribbon is our own Northern Nome interpretation of that historic symbol. So it isn't simply there for decoration, it carries a little piece of the story with it.
The Story Behind Jamie
Jamie belongs to the Clan Path, where the spirit of Scotland's great clans lives on through characters with courage, loyalty and a strong sense of belonging.
A member of Clan Fraser, Jamie wears his clan tartan with pride. His black bonnet gives him a traditional Highland air, while his nickname hints at the bold and determined character beneath it all.
Perhaps Boldblade comes from a great deed of bravery.
Or perhaps Jamie simply has a tendency to get himself into situations where a little bravery is required.
Either way, he is never one to turn down an adventure.
