He doesn't call the darkness. He listens to what's already there.

Niven Hollowmoss crouches at the edge of the deep pool, ear pressed to the moss-covered stone, hearing the voices that rise from the roots and the cold water below. He is the Hollowcaller — the one who speaks the language of the underground, the drowned, the long-buried. His deep purple robes are marked with the stars he uses to map not the sky, but the hidden places beneath it: the caverns, the dark water, the spaces between roots where old things settle and wait.

He does not summon things. He simply makes it easier for them to be heard.

He is patient in the way that very old, very still things are patient. His red tassel swings once, slowly, and then is still. He has been waiting longer than you have been alive.

The Story Behind Niven Hollowmoss

Niven is hand-crafted with care, each one made individually so no two are ever quite the same. That stillness is entirely his own, he arrives already listening, already mid-conversation with something you cannot hear.

He walks the Darkwood, the deepest part of the Hidden Path, where the trees grow close and the light arrives late and leaves early. The Darkwood Folk are not the watchers at the edge of the forest. They are the ones at the centre of it, in the oldest dark, where the roots go deepest and the old magic has never left.

A Northern Nome with Character

  • Hand-crafted using reclaimed timber, dressed in felt
  • Approximately 15cm tall (each one is unique — yours may vary slightly)
  • Comes with a Darkwood Folk swing tag
  • No two are ever identical

A Little Piece of the Highlands

Niven makes a wonderful gift for anyone who loves the quiet, unsettling beauty of deep woodland, ancient water, and the sense that the natural world is paying attention. Place him somewhere low and still, he prefers it that way.

Not suitable for children, this is not a toy. Contains small parts.

He is not calling anything. He is simply making sure it knows it can speak.
